Arrack Punch

Arrack Punch , most likely the earliest kind of punch, was popular from the beginning of the seventeenth century to the middle of the nineteenth, when it was still able to earn an entry in Jerry Thomas’s pioneering bartender’s guide in 1862. Its principal ingredient is either palm arrack or the more popular Batavia arrack. See also arrack, Batavia; and arrack, coconut.
